I study how businesses work—and how evidence changes my mind.

I’m Alexi Xi, a student at Shenzhen College of International Education (SCIE). Having completed G2, I am preparing to begin A1. I use primary sources, data, observations and conversations to investigate questions about businesses, consumer behaviour and decision-making.

What I’m Investigating Now

AXR-001 · POP MART

Why do my classmates and I like Pop Mart—and what makes that interest last or fade?

I chose Pop Mart because I genuinely enjoy its products and often see my classmates discussing and collecting them. I want to understand what first creates that interest, what makes it continue, and what may cause it to fade.

What This Project Is Teaching Me

Evidence is rarely complete

Good decisions often have to be made before every fact is available.

Being wrong can be useful

A challenged hypothesis can reveal weaknesses in my reasoning and lead to better questions.

Clear writing exposes weak thinking

If I cannot explain an idea clearly, I may not understand it well enough yet.

Why I Publish

I do not publish because I consider myself an expert. I publish because making my reasoning visible encourages me to be more careful, more honest about uncertainty and more open to criticism.

Over time, I hope this project can also become a useful starting point for other students who want to explore business and consumer behaviour through evidence.

About Alexi

I am an SCIE student who has completed G2 and is preparing to begin A1. I am interested in business, economics, consumer behaviour and how people make decisions under uncertainty.

I started this project because I wanted to move beyond simply reading other people’s conclusions. I want to learn how to ask better questions, examine original evidence and change my mind when the evidence requires it.
